Our mission is clear: to cultivate in young people the passion and ability to serve humanity and our planet. For over six decades, we have embraced, as a movement, a holistic approach to education rooted in experiential learning and multicultural collaboration. Our two-year residential experience brings together students from diverse backgrounds, fostering an environment where they learn from each other and from the natural world around them.
Central to our educational approach is the International Baccalaureate program, which provides academic rigor and instills in students a deep appreciation for different cultures and perspectives. Through our Co-curricular and Residential Programs, students are empowered to take on leadership roles and drive positive change in their communities and beyond.
The impact of a UWC Costa Rica’s education extends far beyond graduation. Our alumni, numbering nearly 1,500 from 131 nationalities, are a testament to the transformative power of our approach. With 90% of our students pursuing higher education post-graduation, many are dedicating their careers to tackling pressing issues such as climate change, migration, and social inclusion.
